You must periodically visit the gun range to train with your weapon. Whether you’re a hunter, a competitive shooter, or carry a concealed weapon for self-defense, shooting at the range will sharpen your skills. Discover the essential gear to bring to the shooting range for productive sessions.

Shooting Equipment

Always check ahead of time with the gun range to know their restrictions on the guns and ammunition you can bring. Many won’t allow black powder firearms, for example.

You can bring your own gun or rent one from the range. Renting can be a great way to test a firearm before purchasing one for yourself.

Ammunition is usually not included in the range fee, so bring your own or purchase it when you arrive. Check ahead of time to ensure the range offers the caliber for your firearm. Keep in mind that if you’re renting a gun, some facilities require you to purchase their ammo.

Consider bringing extra magazines so you can shoot more efficiently. Bring a cleaning kit so that your firearm functions properly.

Personal Protective Equipment

You’ll need to wear some personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect your eyes and ears at the range. Indoor shooting ranges are particularly cacophonous and hazardous to hearing without adequate protection. Over-earmuffs provide the highest quality of sound protection.

Wear shooting glasses to protect your eyes from debris and cleaning solvents. Shooting glasses can fit over prescription glasses. Coatings and colored lenses provided extra benefits like glare reduction or UV-blocking protection.

Gun Range Bag

Bring all your essential gear to the shooting range in a dedicated gun bag. A backpack designed for concealed carry is an excellent option for a gun range bag. The low-profile design means you can use the bag for everyday situations, not just for the range.

Your gun range bag needs to keep your gun, ammo, cleaning kit, and PPE organized. Sturdy construction ensures the bag will handle all the weight of your belongings and look great.

Head to the gun range carrying a new backpack with a gun holster from Elite Survival Systems. Our selection includes a variety of styles to suit your tastes. Each bag has a well-designed configuration to use space efficiently. Shop with us today!
